From the 1st April 2022 the Government will be introducing the Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) which is a brand new tax on plastic packaging that will start to have affect on our industry.

It will impact anyone who imports goods that are packaged in plastic that is not 30% recycled. They'll be charged £200 a tonne (or part thereof) for this packaging to cover waste disposal and encourage use of recycled plastic. If you import less than 10 tonnes of plastic packaging in a 12 month period you are exempt.
