The Puppet Company launches special Christmas Collection to support Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day

The Puppet Company, a global, family-run puppets and soft toy business, has teamed up with international children’s charity Save the Children for its annual Christmas Jumper Day campaign. Launching an exclusive selection of Christmas Jumper Bear & Friends Puppets, The Puppet Company will help raise much-needed funds for Save the Children’s vital work in the UK and around the world.

The special eco collection of Christmas Jumper Bear & Friends puppets are wearing exclusive Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day festive tops, made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. The Puppet Company will donate £1 from the sale of every Christmas Jumper Bear & Friends puppet (RRP £12.50) and £1 from every specially selected Christmas Collection of puppets and soft toys to Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day, which has raised over £35million since 2012. All funds raised will help some of the most disadvantaged children across the world, including the UK, get access to food, healthcare and education.

The Christmas Jumper Bear & Friends puppets are part of the company’s Eco Walking Puppet collection - beautifully cuddly puppets made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, with access into both the arms and legs so you can make them walk, run, dance and more! With a charming Bear puppet as the central character, Bear’s Friends include a friendly Dog, Cat, Unicorn, Crocodile, Elephant and Lion as a fun collection which appeals to children of all ages.  Each has a special removable Christmas top, which is also made from recycled plastic bottles, featuring the Save the Children logo on the back and which can be taken off after Christmas so they can be enjoyed all year round and re-used each year.

To help raise further funds, The Puppet Company and their sister company Wilberry Toys have also created a specially selected Christmas Collection of beautiful puppets and soft toys perfect for stocking fillers and gifts with a difference, with £1.00 from each item being donated to the charity. From Father Christmas, Snowmen and Reindeers through to adorable Dolls, Unicorns, Penguins and more, this collection has been designed to raise additional funds so that Save the Children can help as many children as possible.

Speaking on behalf of Save the Children, Faye Waters, Senior Fundraising and Engagement Manager, says: “We are thrilled to partner with The Puppet Company and Wilberry Toys for this year’s Christmas Jumper Day campaign. The money raised from the sale of their adorable festive puppets and soft toys will go a long way to helping us to improve the lives of children in the UK and around the world. Together we can help every child get the chance of a future they deserve.”

Director and Co-founder of The Puppet Company and Wilberry Toys, Sue Lockey, says: “Helping children is at the heart of everything we do and we are passionate about creating joyous, educational, and eco-friendly puppets and soft toys for both children and adults to enjoy all over the world. Our Christmas Jumper Day Bear & Friends are now a key part of our puppet family as we work together with Save the Children to improve the lives of children. Our charitable work is an integral part of who we are, and we are thrilled to be working with this amazing charity to support the incredible work they do. We believe that all children deserve comfort and joy, especially at this time of year, and are doing what we can to raise awareness and funds to help”

Now in its 22nd year, The Puppet Company is a key player in the gift and toy world, striking a unique balance between being a family-run, values-led business and a global market leader. The Puppet Company has children’s wellbeing, education, and creativity at the heart of everything they do, helping children to learn through play and, most importantly, to have fun. Their puppets and soft toys promote creative play; they are all about children and adults alike being inspired to tell stories, to ignite their imaginations and to make people smile. In a tech-saturated world, this battery-free approach is increasingly in demand and from their founding roots in education they continue to champion the importance of imaginative play. Their passion for early years education and sustainable, creative play, enabled their collaboration with Save the Children and marks the start of a wider partnership as The Puppet Company look to discuss further ways they can support the charity through the power of puppets.
