BATF and NAJ Announce Date for 2024 AGMs and Benevolent Society Dinner at Tower of London

BATF and NAJ Announce Date for 2024 AGMs and Benevolent Society Dinner at Tower of London

The British Allied Trades Federation (BATF) and the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) will host their respective annual general meetings (AGMs) on the afternoon of June 6, 2024, at the historic Tower of London, followed by a celebratory Benevolent Society dinner and private tour of the British Crown Jewels.

Current BATF President Henrik Skouby and current NAJ Chair Heather Callaway will host attendees on Thursday, June 6, with registration for both meetings commencing at 4 PM. By the end of the day’s proceedings, a new BATF President and NAJ Chair will be named and inducted into their roles.

Further timings for the day’s activities, including a formal notice of meeting, will be displayed on the BATF and NAJ websites.

Following the AGMs, Benevolent Society Chair Gay Penfold will provide a short update on the charity’s activities and its recent beneficiaries. Guests will then be able to explore the British Crown Jewels on a private tour, followed by a sit-down dinner to celebrate The Benevolent Society’s 100th anniversary.

President of the British Allied Trades Federation, Henrik Skouby, says: “I look forward to hosting the BATF AGM in June at the prestigious Tower of London. This will also provide the ideal platform to induct a new BATF President who will guide the Federation into the next chapter in its long history. As this is a milestone year for the Benevolent Society, I hope to see all our federated trade associations and their diverse array of members represented on the night.”

National Association of Jewellers Chair Heather Callaway comments: “Our annual general meeting is an invaluable opportunity to engage with the NAJ and learn more about our initiatives and ongoing projects. I would encourage our members to attend and be part of this important yearly process. This is also the occasion when the new Chair of the NAJ will be formally inducted into the role, making this an important occasion for me personally and for the Association.”

The Benevolent Society Chairman, Gay Penfold, adds: “This is a very special year for the BATF Benevolent Society as we celebrate our 100th anniversary. We are thrilled that this year’s BATF AGM and dinner will be held at the Tower of London, which will also include a private tour of the Crown Jewels. We really hope to see as many people there as possible.”

To attend the AGMs, please register here.

Please note that members of the BATF and its federated trade associations are entitled to a complimentary ticket to both AGMs. Attendees will be permitted to enter the Tower of London from 9 AM on June 6 to maximise their visit to this iconic World Heritage Site.
