BBC Radio 4 Spotlight for Fox Under The Moon Ahead of Major Book and Gift Launches
A few years ago, illustrator and author Stacey McNeill was sketching quiet fox and moon conversations in a tiny touring caravan on Anglesey - simply for comfort and joy. Today, that small beginning has grown into Fox Under The Moon: a heart-led brand with a community of over 300,000 followers worldwide, resonating across books, stationery and gifts.
Now based in the North East of England and working alongside her husband Jamie, Stacey is entering her most exciting chapter yet with the release of her first traditionally published book, Fox Under The Moon - Seasons of Comfort and Hope - publishing with Quercus (Hachette UK) on 23rd October 2025 in the UK, and with Weldon Owen in the USA and Canada on 6th January 2026.
The full-colour hardback gift title blends whimsical illustration with reassuring reflections on resilience, change, friendship and new beginnings - positioning it as a timeless “hug in a book” for both book trade and gifting retailers alike. Early pre-orders have been strong across Waterstones, Barnes & Noble, Amazon and independent bookshops.
But the book launch marks only the beginning. The growing momentum has also led to Stacey being invited as a guest on BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live, where she’ll be sharing her story on Saturday 25th October from 9am.
Alongside publication, Fox Under The Moon is expanding into a major gift range through a new collaboration with award-winning gift wholesaler Joe Davies - set to launch at Spring Fair 2026. The collection will translate the brand’s most-loved illustrations and sentiments into affordable, heartfelt keepsakes for everyday encouragement and emotional gifting.
At the same time, The Art File will launch a brand new Fox Under The Moon greeting card collection in January 2026, bringing their licensed range to 36 designs - the majority of which will feature artwork taken directly from the new book.
“I’ve always believed that small words of comfort - whether in a book, a card or a keepsake - can make a big difference to someone’s day,” says Stacey. “Seeing Fox Under The Moon reach people in so many different forms is the most humbling joy.”
Kate Hewson, Non-Fiction Publisher at Quercus, adds:
“There’s a rare tenderness in Stacey’s work - she captures universal feelings with such simplicity. Fox Under The Moon is the kind of book people keep beside them for life.”
Already praised by bestselling poet Donna Ashworth as “wise and warm, like a hug from the universe,” the Fox Under The Moon brand now looks set to become one of 2026’s most meaningful feel-good gift collections.
